Pharmaceutical-grade sea salt with probiotic
Tropic Marin® Syn-Biotic sea salt contains probiotic bacteria for fish and shrimp, as well as special prebiotic bacteria food to promote probiotic bacterial strains and create nutrient-poor conditions in the aquarium for LPS and SPS corals. The unique combination of probiotic bacteria with prebiotic additives achieves a synergistic effect.
Syn-Biotic sea salt is ideal for setting up a new aquarium and for adding new fish. Probiotic bacteria have been proven to improve the health and well-being of fish and crustaceans and help them overcome stress and disease. For optimal acclimation, aquarium water containing Syn-Biotic sea salt should be used before introducing new animals .
The included prebiotic additives support the incorporation of nitrates and phosphates into bacterial biomass, and these nutrient-poor conditions contribute to the vibrant colors of the stony corals. For the long-term adaptation of the animals to the aquarium conditions and to stabilize the microbiology, we recommend the continued use of Syn-Biotic sea salt . Each water change automatically replenishes the probiotic bacteria necessary for ongoing prevention.

To achieve a salinity of 32–35‰ (psu), dissolve 35 ml (approx. 37–40 g) of Tropic Marin® Syn-Biotic per liter of water in a container, circulating the water. The prepared seawater is ready for use once the salt is completely dissolved. The density of the sea salt solution should be 1.022 to 1.024 at a temperature of 25 °C.
Note: When measuring the conductivity of freshly prepared Tropic Marin® Syn-Biotic salt water, the values shown are approximately 10% too low. We therefore recommend measuring the density with the Tropic Marin® hydrometer .
A slight cloudiness in the seawater is normal and indicates that the synbiotic additives are taking effect. A weekly partial water change of up to 10% with Tropic Marin® Syn-Biotic helps maintain the water quality in which your aquatic life thrives.
